Tiger Woods seriously hurt in crash – report

28 November 2009

Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Orlando Sentinel has reported the Florida Highway Patrol as saying.

According to the report, Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25am when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbour’s property.

Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, the highway patrol said.

The Florida Highway Patrol reportedly said the airbags in Woods’s Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was not travelling at a speed.

No other information about his condition has been released.
