Two people die in road accident on N1

Two people lost their lives and two others were critically injured in a 3 vehicle snarl up on the N1 near the Malibongwe turn off an hour ago. Exact details of the accident is still speculative, however it is purported that the 10 ton construction vehicle with a load of tar was slowing in the traffic when a two ton truck careered into the back of the construction vehicle. A Nissan bakkie then lost control and was caught up in the accident.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and found the two passengers of the two ton truck still trapped in the mangled wreckage , but sadly they succumbed due to there injuries. Fireman had to use the Jaws of Life to free the bodies from the twisted frame of the truck.

The driver of the truck and the driver of a private bakkie sustained critical injuries. Paramedics worked fervently to stabilize both patients before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
