The injured clambered out of the crumpled remains of the taxi and laid at the side of the roadway. Netcare 911 and provincial paramedics arrived on scene and after triaging, found that 3 children all under the age of one year and two ladies sustained serious injuries, while a further 12 females sustained minor injuries .
Paramedics worked fervently to stabilize the wounded before transporting them to an area hospital in Harrismith for further medical care.
