A off duty police officer living in the area was alerted, he pulled the child out of the water and started doing CPR while the Netcare 911 control centre gave telephonic advice.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and worked fervently to resuscitate the little girl, tragically after 45 minutes of advanced life support resuscitation the child was declared dead.
