50 year old dies in electrocution in Buccleuch area

A 50 year old man tragically died after being electrocuted at his home in the Buccleuch area this morning at around 11h00. Details of how he was electrocuted is still speculative, but it is believed that the power at their house was out and the gentleman decided to walk his dog.

He arrived back at home and went to the electricity box on the wall facing the street and somehow was electrocuted. A neighbour found the elderly gentleman lying unresponsive on the pavement and called for an ambulance.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and found the public doing CPR. They connected the patient to a heart monitor but found that the patient had tragically died on scene, despite the excellent effort from the bystanders to resuscitate the man.
