Kempton Park accident after vehicle skips traffic light

A female is in a serious condition after a snarl up at the intersection of CR Swart and the Old Pretoria roads this evening at around 20h00. Although exact details are still a subject for police investigation, the errant party seemed to have skipped the traffic light and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Paramedics from Netcare 911 arrived on scene to find that a female passenger from one of the vehicles sustained serious injuries. The evidence on the windscreen of the car suggests that they were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, as one of the occupants head smashed the glass.

Paramedics immobilized the seriously wounded lady on a spinal board and after she was stabilized they transported her to the Tembisa hospital for further medical care.

One other person had sustained minor injuries but refused treatment on scene.
