Advanced life support paramedic Quinton from life had to be taken to the patient using 4×4’s. When he arrived on scene he realized that there is no way an ambulance could get to them, and with suspected spinal injuries they needed a helicopter to safely transport the patient to hospital.
Fortunately the Netcare 1 medical helicopter has the capability to fly at night. Within minutes of receiving the call they were airborne to the accident scene. When they landed the patient had been stabilized and packaged by the ground crew, the patient was loaded on board the helicopter and then airlifted to the Netcare Union hospital for further treatment.
