One person was killed and another was critically injured when the vehicle they were traveling in overturned on the N4 West near Cullinan this afternoon at around 15h13. Although the exact details of the accident is still a subject of police investigation, it appears that the rear wheel of the VW bus burst causing the driver to lose control.
The mangled remains of the vehicle came to rest several meters down the road.When the Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene they found that one of the occupants sadly passed away due to the severe injuries that he sustained and another was in a critical condition.
After paramedics stabilized the critically wounded patient he was airlifted to the Steve Bhiko hospital onboard the Netcare 1 medical helicopter for further treatment.
