The Arrive Alive website yesterday received an email from a very concerned citizen. The email received from Marius was titled “Stop – Verwyder -Verbied – Verban – Sluit op en gooi sleutels weg !” [ Stop – remove -ban -Throw away the Keys!]
This was sent wih reference to the recent fatal bus accident on Moloto road and is part of a plea for the safety of commuters. It appeared that this bus was “crabbing” along semi-sideways and definately not roadworthy, nor safe for travel and sharing the road with other road users!
During December we will see an increase in visible law enforcement – and this is an example of issues that need to be addressed. We need to focus and be very strict on those aspects and road safety threats that cause multiple deaths! We would like to plea with our traffic officials to remove non-roadworthy vehicles and address overloading, drunk driving etc!
We will share this with law enforcement at the Road Traffic Management Corporation as well!
