Tow truck driver shot in attempted robbery

A tow truck driver is in a serious condition after he was shot along Pretoria road in the Summerfield area late last night. It is believed that the tow truck driver was busy hooking up a vehicle when and unknown assailant stopped and demanded valuables.

After an argument the errant party pulled out a firearm, a shot went off and the tow truck driver sustained a gunshot wound to the groin. Netcare 911 paramedics worked fervently to stabilize the wounded before transporting him to the Charlotte Maxeke hospital for further treatment.
