One person died and 9 others were injured in a roll –over accident on the N 1 south about 15 kilometers outside Polokwane at around 13h00 this afternoon. It is purported that the Toyota Hilux was traveling towards Pretoria when it experienced a blow–out on one of the wheels causing the L D V to roll several times.
Paramedics arrived on scene to find that the driver tragically died due to the severe injuries he sustained. A 5 year old child was critically injured while five passengers sustained serious injuries. Three people miraculously escaped from this horror accident with only minor cuts and bruises.
Netcare 911 and provincial paramedics worked fervently to stabilise all the wounded before transporting them by ambulance to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
