A 15 year old boy is in a critical condition after being struck by a hit and run vehicle in the Swinburn area of Alberton this evening at around 19h30. According to eyewitnesses the boy was crossing the road when the car smashed into him and then sped off, leaving the critically wounded youngster laying in the roadway.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene to find that the boy sustained polytraumatic injuries. They worked fervently to stabilise the child and then transported him to the Baragwaneth hospital for further medical care.
