6 injured in collision near Tembisa

accident-tembisa 6 people were injured one critically in a head on collision along the Pretoria road near Tembisa in the Kempton Park area early this morning. Exact details of the accident is still a subject for the police to investigate ,but it is believed that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions and near the cement factory the errant vehicle crossed into the on coming lane and collided with the other vehicle .

On impact the 1400 bakkie hurtled into the veld next to the roadway, its engine and gearbox laying meters away from the vehicle. The Toyota condor overturned on impact and came to rest on its roof about 50 meters up the road.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and after triaging found a critically injured patient still trapped in the crumpled remains of the Toyota Condor, 2 others had sustained serious injuries and miraculously 3 others escaped from the wreckages with only minor injuries.

Fireman had to use the jaws of life to free the critically wounded from the Toyota while paramedics worked fervently to stabilize the injured. The Netcare 1 medical Helicopter was called to airlift the critically injured male to the Tembisa hospital ,while the other patients were transported to an area hospital by the provincial ambulance services for further medical care.
