Durban city accidents leave three seriously injured

Two men were injured when a tow truck and a light delivery vehicle collided on Queen Mary Avenue, Glenwood, this afternoon.

It is thought that both vehicles had been travelling towards Francois Road when the tow truck, while rounding a sharp bend, crashed into the back of the LDV. The force of impact caused the lead vehicle to overturn.

The driver and passenger of the delivery truck were treated and stabilised by Netcare911 Paramedics at the scene before they were transported by ambulance to a Durban Hospital for further medical care.

The tow truck driver was uninjured in the smash.

In another incident one man was seriously injured when two cars collided in the intersection of Prince Alfred and Morrison Roads in central Durban this afternoon.

It is thought that one vehicle had proceeded from Morrison Road through the junction in an effort to get to Stanger Street. Another vehicle travelling towards the CBD slammed into the side of the crossing car.

One man sustained serious lacerations to his head, as well as possible spinal trauma from the smash. He was treated and stabilised by Netcare911 Paramedics at the scene before he was transported to hospital by ambulance.
