A motorcyclist sustained polytraumatic injuries this morning at around 06h00 along Main road in the Kyalami area. It is believed that two riders was out for a pleasure cruise when disaster struck. The one rider lost control of his bike, slid several meters before smashing through an electrical fence. The injured man came to rest in a veld some 10 meters from the roadway .
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene to find a man in his 30’s with critical injuries. They worked fervently to stabilise the patient and after placing him on a ventilator, they transported the critically wounded to the Netcare Sunning hill hospital for further treatment. A trauma team took over treatment of the patient but despite all their efforts the man died due to the extent of his injuries.
