MECs to decide action against SA Roadlink

The Western Cape community safety and transport MECs will hold an urgent meeting on Monday to discuss what action should be taken against SA Roadlink.

An SA Roadlink bus driver was caught driving under the influence of alcohol in Worcester on Saturday night.
The incident comes just days after two SA Roadlink busses were pulled off the road in George after they were declared unsafe. Western Cape Community Safety MEC Lennit Max said they are looking at what action can be taken against bus company SA Roadlink.

“We cannot allow somebody who is carrying 72 passengers on a bus from Cape Town to Johannesburg to be under the influence. That is a serious transgression,” Max said.

He adds the actions of the bus driver had put the lives of many people at risk.
