One person dies in taxi accident in Alberton

15 people were injured 3 critically in a snarl-up at the intersection of J G Strydom and Kliprivier roads in Alberton just before mid-day. It is purported that the taxi was driving along J G Strydom road and slammed into a bakkie that was driving along Kliprivier road at the intersection. The cause of the accident will be investigated by the police.

Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire services arrived on scene to find three patients critically injured and a further 12 with serious injuries. After all the wounded were stabilized on scene, fourteen patients were transported to the Natalspruit Hospital while one of the seriously injured patients was transported to the Netcare Union Hospital for further medical care.

Sadly one of the critically wounded died soon after arriving at the Natalspruit hospital due to the extent of his injuries.
