A tractor driver was critically injured when his tractor overturned at the Benoni north agricultural holdings this afternoon. Details of this accident are still speculative however it is purported that he was trying to pull a tree stump from the ground when the tractor flipped .
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene to find the driver still pinned beneath the tractor by his arm and in a critical condition. They worked fervently to stabilize the patient and battled to free his crushed arm from beneath the overturned implement.
As the man had also sustained polytraumatic injuries, paramedics decided to call the Netcare 1 Medical helicopter with a specialized trauma team on board, to airlift the critically wounded man to the Charlotte Maxeke hospital for further medical care.
