Yet another paramedic in Johannesburg has been injured before arriving for his work shift following the early morning story in Midrand. A Basic Life Support paramedic, working for ER24’s Johannesburg West branch, was involved in a three car pileup on his way to work.

The accident occurred on Ontdekkers road, outside of the West Gate shopping center in the West Rand in the early hours of the evening. As ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found their colleague still sitting inside his vehicle, complaining of severe neck pain. He was promptly removed from his vehicle using specialized equipment, and transported to the Life Flora Clinic for further management. No other injuries were reported on scene.

Metro Police was on scene and will be conducting the necessary investigation.
