truck-accidents

One person is in a serious condition while another three people have sustained minor to moderate injuries after a collision involving two trucks on the N2 North Bound near Claire road bridge this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find an articulated truck up against the concrete barrier with the cabin completely disintegrated. Just a few meters away a second truck was found also in the emergency lane up against the concrete barrier with the front part of the truck damaged. The left hand side of the container and back door were damaged as well.

The driver of the first truck was found lying at the back of the trailer and had suffered possible neck, back and hip injuries. He was placed on a specialised board before been placed into the ambulance. The driver and two occupants of the second truck were found seated on the floor in front of their truck. They had suffered minor injuries. All four patients were transported to EThekwini Hospital for further medical care.

It is unclear who was at fault but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would be investigating the accident. Two lanes were affected due to this accident.
