accident-gillets

Three people have been seriously injured and another person has sustained minor to moderate injuries after a collision on the M13 Durban bound near Gillets / Everton on ramp involving a Toyota SUV and a KIA this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the Kia lying on its side in the emergency lane and the Toyota SUV was found facing oncoming traffic in the left hand lane of the M13. The driver of the Toyota was still found in her seat complaining of neck and pains to her face. Her passenger was found walking around on scene with a cut to his hand. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle was found lying on the floor near their car. They were treated for neck and back injuries.

All patients were stabilised on the scene and transported to Life Entabeni and R K Khans Hospital for further medical treatment.

It is believed that the KIA had mechanical problems and the driver lost control and crashed into the Toyota that was travelling in the left hand lane. The impact caused both vehicles to roll.

Traffic was affected as one lane was closed.
