Taxi Accident Kills One And Dozen Hurt

er_banner2 One person is dead, another is in a critical condition, while dozen other commuters have sustained minor to serious injuries after the taxi they were travelling in over turned on the N2 North Bound just past the Umkomass River this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find the taxi lying on its side with commuters still inside. One patient was found outside the vehicle, who is believed to have been ejected from the taxi when the accident occurred. The patient was declared deceased due to the fatal injuries he had sustained.

Another patient had sustained critical injuries and needed to be airlifted by a medical helicopter for further medical care. The remaining fifteen patients had suffered minor to serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital by road for further medical care.

It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would be investigating the accident further.
