A man, estimated to be in his mid thirties, died after being hit by a train, near the Tygerberg Station, in Parow, this evening.
When paramedics arrived on the scene the fire department was in attendance and had declared the man dead. He had suffered severe trauma and probably died on impact.
The passenger train is believed to have been travelling towards Cape Town when the man crossed the tracks and was hit by the train. The necessary authorities are investigating the incident.
