In the newspapers today we find stories of raging veldt fires and damage caused by these fires in the Eastern Free State. These fires are often caused unintentionally by road users throwing cigarettes from their vehicle. The next truck passing by causes a bust of wind that could easily ignite a small fire with devastating consequences!!
We would like to urge all road users not to throw cigarettes from their vehicles – please protect the environment, animal life and the safety of other road users and the community in that area!
