At 6h35 this morning Aerocare and ER24 joined forces in the repatriation of Portugese Fooball World Cup Supporter and accident victim, Tomas Ferreira. The patient was seriously injured during the World Cup in a car crash near Bethlehem and had to be resuscitated three times. The patient was treated at the Bloemfontein Medi-Clinic for the past month.
The patient is accompanied on this flight by trauma specialist Dr Andre Loubser, an ICU nurse Karen Jansen from Aerocare and 2 family members – his wife Clarisse Pires and sister Teresa Ferreira. Dr Loubser will fly along with the patient and be by his side until arrival in a Lisbon hospital.
