A teenager was killed this evening in an alleged hit and run motor vehicle accident.

According to ER24 Paramedics on scene the mother of the young boy had bought her son the scooter only two days earlier. Allegedly the teenager, a 19 year old resident of Elsisriver, was traveling on Halt rd in the direction of his home when a minibus taxi collided with him from behind. The boy was then flung from the scooter into a street lamp and onto the road.

When paramedics arrived on scene the teenager was not breathing and had no pulse. They immediately started with CPR but later declared the boy dead at the scene. The situation escalated when the parents of the boy arrived on the scene to found that their son had passed away.

Allegedly bystanders who had witnessed the accident had written down the registration number of the taxi and gave the information to the local police service. The situation was then escalated when the suspect was brought to the scene for identification. Paramedics remained at the scene to calm the family and to assist with the transportation of the body.
