A man was killed and two others critically injured when their car lost control and overturned on the N3 near Heidelberg, Johannesburg paramedics said on Sunday.
The cause of the accident was not yet determined, but Netcare911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks said the car had rolled several times, entrapping its occupants.
The accident occurred on Saturday night.
Emergency workers used the jaws-of-life to remove the two injured people and the body out of the wreckage.
The survivors were taken to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.
