8 hurt in street racing accident

“Dicing” between two VW Golfs on Commando road in Johannesburg has led to eight people being injured on Monday evening, Gauteng paramedics said.

The accident happened at 18:15 when one of the two VW Golf’s allegedly hit a taxi and a Toyota Yaris, said Johannesburg Emergency Services spokesperson Percy Morokane.

Two people in each Golf were injured, one of which is in a critical condition. Four people were injured in the Yaris and eight people were injured in the taxi.

The accident happened at the intersection of Commando and Main Reef road and has led to traffic being backed up on both.
