A couple had a narrow escape this afternoon after the vehicle they were travelling in was dragged by a truck for about 50m down the N3 South bound near Liberty Mall this afternoon.
Traffic was stopped due to the accident, making it very difficult for emergency personnel to attend to the scene. Once on scene they found the light motor vehicle in the left hand lane of the freeway, with the truck just a few meters away.
The driver of the car was found walking around on scene, while the female passenger was found seated on the back seat. The woman who was shaken up from the ordeal was also treated for possible neck and back injuries. Both driver and passenger were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear how the accident occurred but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would be investigating the incident further.
