Twenty Six Injured In Collision on Edendale Road

Twenty six people have been injured including children after two taxi’s, two bakkies and a light motor vehicle collided on Edendale road heading towards Pietermaritzburg this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found all the vehicles spread out about 100m across the two lanes. Patients were found strewed across the road with multiple injuries. Two patients sustained critical injuries and needed advanced life support intervention to be performed. Four other patients sustained serious injuries, while the remaining twenty patients sustained minor to moderate injuries.

All patients were transported by ER24, EMRS and Daymed to various hospitals in the greater Pietermaritzburg for further medical care.

It is unclear how the accident occurred but the necessary authorities were on the scene and a full investigating would be done in to the collision
