Minibus Taxi Overturns on the N2 Highway

Twelve people were injured this morning when the taxi they were traveling in overturned on the N2 highway just past the Borchard’s quarry off ramp.

Allegedly a small bakkie traveling in front of the minibus taxi lost control and collided with a barrier before colliding with the taxi. The taxi then lost control at which point a small delivery truck collided with the taxi from behind. Both the minibus taxi and the delivery truck then left the highway, but only the minibus taxi overturned.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found multiple patients around the wreckage. With help from the local fire and rescue services including Metro ambulance service all of the twelve patients were transported to hospitals in the surrounding area.

Fortunately for all involved in the incident no one was seriously injured as most of the occupants of the minibus taxi managed to walk away from the collision with minor scrapes and bruises.
