Motor Vehicle Collision on Viking Way

Two people where injured this morning when their vehicle broke down on Viking Way in Thornton. Allegedly the men were pushing the vehicle in the left lane when they decided to stop and reassess the reason for the mechanical failure.

Whilst working under the bonnet at the front of the vehicle their stationary vehicle was hit from behind by a luxury sedan. The impact of the collision threw the two men of their feet and onto a field next to the road.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene the local fire and rescue services were already attending to the injured men. Both had sustained injuries to their lower extremities and multiple scrapes and bruises. They were first stabilized at the scene before being transported to hospital. The appropriate authorities will be investigating the incident.
