Free State Transport reveals details on Enforcement Activities In December

It is very unfortunate to enter this festive period with many families having to grieve because of loosing loved ones due to irresponsible behaviour of many of our road users. Many of the accidents, particularly fatal ones, that are occurring could have been prohibited. Driving on the N3 with a 22 metre truck combination with a full load and knowing very well that your brakes are not functioning, is nothing else but a brutal practice. We as law enforcement are not even supposed to issue a summons for that. Not at such a critical time.

We want to send a strong message to motorists who still have no intention of turning away from their lawlessness, in spite of all the efforts put in place by Government to ensure that our roads are safe and road users reach their destination safe.

It is not safe at all to undermine our humble approach toward lawlessness. We will be harsh indeed and this is certainly not a threat.

We will continue to hit hard on all non compliance. Our focus will also be on public transport false documentation. No vehicle with false documentation such as permits will be released in the Free State. We will populate our major routes with speed enforcement and act harsh if necessary. Vehicles with defective wiper blades in rain conditions will also be removed from the road.
