A 76 year old man went jogging along Table Mountain road in the Eastwood area of Pietermaritzburg this morning at around 05h00 when a taxi hurtled down the road and smashed into the jogger.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene to find the man in a critical condition. Medics fervently worked for over an hour to try and resuscitate the wounded man but he tragically succumbed on scene due to the extensive injuries that he had sustained.
The taxi driver was removed from the scene by the SAPS.
