A fully loaded taxi has rolled down the embankment off the N14 highway this morning after allegedly losing a tire.
The incident occurred on the Krugersdorp bound carriageway near the Lanseria road offramp. Two people have died at the scene, while 4 others have sustained critical to serious injuries. Two of the patients was airlifted from the scene by a Medicopter. A third patient was bound to be airlifted from the scene, but as the ER24 Discovery Medicopter landed at the scene, paramedics had to initiate resuscitation efforts on the woman. She too sadly succumbed to her critical injuries and was later declared deceased at the scene.
The remaining patients suffered moderate to minor injuries. Paramedics from all surrounding areas removed the patients from the scene by ambulances.
