With Easter around the corner, part of the safety initiative by Gabriel is educating people on the risks of driving with worn shock absorbers.
As part of this initiative, Gabriel has partnered with Hi-Q Automotive with a programme called “Women with Drive”.
“The project empowers women and removes the mysteries of car maintenance covering concepts about tyres, car batteries and shock absorbers,” said Marilu Gomes who represented Gabriel as one of the lectures.
“A significant percentage of road accidents are caused by worn shocks. Our initiative across all consumers is to enable them to identify potentially dangerous signs of worn shocks,” said Sean Staley marketing executive, Control Instruments Automotive.
“Signs of worn shocks include a vibrating steering wheel, a vehicle nose-diving, extra movement of the suspension and prro road handling.”
The project began last week at Hi-Q Killarney Mall branch. “Following the success of the evening, another two events are being planned for this year, said Wynard Loubser, Hi-Q business development manager.
The course will then be rolled out next year to all Hi-Q dealerships nationwide.
