2 Men Seriously Injured in Weltevreden Park accident


Two cars have collided head on on JG Strijdom Road in Weltevreden Park leaving 2 men with serious injuries.

It is not clear as to the cause of the accident, or as to who was at fault, but both vehicles were extensively damaged. The White Opel crashed over the center median and into the oncoming lanes after the impact. It allegedly spun out of control knocking a third vehicle, a blue Honda.

The driver of the Ford Focus was removed from the vehicle through the passenger side door and stabilised on scene before being taken to Flora Clinic for further treatment. The young man driving the Opel sustained serious injuries and needed immediate Advanced Life Support treatment. He was stabilised inside the car before being taken to Flora Clinic.

The 4 occupants of the Honda luckily were uninjured, the Grandmother her daughter and two young grandchildren were in shock but they decided not to go through to hospital.

Traffic was diverted around the scene as the three vehicles took up all 4 lanes.

The police attended the scene.
