Two large trucks, a taxi and a car have crashed into one another on the Duiwelskloof Road just outside of Polokwane this morning.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and it is not yet clear what actually caused these 4 vehicles to collide. When ER24 paramedics from the local branch arrived at the scene, they expected the worst as the two large trucks and taxi were crushed and the car which was slightly damaged was found a short distance away.
Sadly, the only passenger inside the taxi, a man believed to be around the age of 25, had died in the accident. The driver of the taxi, also a man in his early 20’s, sustained serious injuries and he was taken to a nearby hospital by the ER24 paramedics and handed over to hospital staff in a stable condtion.
The driver and passenger of one of the trucks, the driver of the other truck and the driver of the light motor vehicle had been fortunate enough to have not been injured in the accident. No other persons had been involved in the accident.
The police attended the scene and would conduct the necessary full investigations into the cause of the crash.
