Last Friday the 17 of June 2011, ER24 paramedics from the Constatiaberg base delivered two beds, mattresses and numerous pillows to “The Haven” in Wynberg. The initiative came about after an ER24 staff member mentioned the idea of donating the beds to the homeless shelter.
An out of duty ambulance was used to move the beds to the shelter where they were met by smiling faces. “The Haven” homeless shelter has enough room for roughly 90 residents and continuously need support from the community by means of donations.
