Three people were killed and 28 injured in a head-on collision in Paarl on Friday morning, the Western Cape traffic department said.
“The collision between a Golf and a Mercedes Sprinter minibus happened on the toll road between the [Huguenot] tunnel and the toll plaza,” said chief director Kenny Africa.
Three people in the Golf burned to death.
“Of the taxi passengers, we believe some of the injured may be children and babies,” Africa said.
Details of the crash were still emerging, he said.
