Accident in Sandton as Jaguar crashes into 1 Ton Bakkie Leaves 11 Injured

11 people have been injured after a Jaguar collided into the back of a closed canopy Kia 1 ton bakkie in Sandton, on Sandton Drive just before the intersection with Alice Drive.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, the light motor vehicle was on the far right hand side of the road while the bakkie had come to rest upon the barrier on the other side of the far left hand side of the road.

The front of the Jaguar was severely damaged, but the man who was driving was fortunately not badly injured. There were 10 men in the bakkie, and they were allegedly on their way to work when the accident happened.

It is at this stage not clear as to the exact events leading up to the accident, but the 11 men were assessed on scene before being taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment of their minor to moderate injuries.

Traffic was backed up all the way to William Nicol Drive placing even more strain on the early morning peak hour traffic.
