Wet Weather Causes Accidents in KZN

[PIETERMARITZBURG – 29 JULY 2011 AT 08H00]

Three motor vehicles were involved in a collision on Royston Road, Mountain Rise just outside Pietermaritzburg, leaving three people injured with only minor injuries this morning.

ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene and found two bakkies and a light motor vehicle involved in a collision. The two bakkies were close to one another, with the Corsa bakkie half way up an embankment, with damage to the driver’s side. The light motor vehicle was just a few meters away from the accident.

The two drivers of the bakkie and the passenger were the only ones hurt in the accident. They had suffered very minor to moderate injuries and were transported to various hospitals in Pietermaritzburg by EMRS and ER24 ambulances for further medical care. The two occupants from the light motor vehicle were uninjured in the crash.

It is unclear who was at fault but wet weather is believed to have played a part in the collision. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate further.
