A 19yr old pamphlet distributor is in a serious condition after he was knocked down by a Polo Player at the corners of 11th and O’ Reiley Merry in Northmead, Benoni this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying on the road near to the vehicle in a pool of blood. The man had sustained major injuries to both his upper and lower leg and possible internal injuries from the impact. Advanced life support intervention had to be performed on the patient while he was stabilised further. ER24 Discovery Medicopter was called to airlift the patient to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
It is unclear who was at fault at the time of the incident but the local authorities will investigate the incident further. The driver of the light motor vehicle was unharmed in the collision.
