Ctrack boosts product and services offering with the acquisition of MotorOne

Digicore Holdings Ltd, a JSE listed entity and the owner of Ctrack, the country’s most technologically advanced vehicle monitoring and fleet management system, has acquired a 50.1% stake in Worldmark SA (Pty) Ltd t/a MotorOne, a South African motor accessory company that concentrates on deriving improved second gross profits for the motor vehicle industry.

Says Mark Rousseau, COO of Digicore Holdings: “The acquisition of MotorOne is a strategic move for our company. We will be able to take advantage of the extensive sales network within the motor vehicle dealership market that MotorOne has established over the past seven years which will provide substantial opportunity to further grow the sales of the Ctrack product within the motor vehicle market. MotorOne has a national footprint of 18 established branches in South Africa. In addition, Ctrack is now able to offer the extensive range of safety, car care, and advanced electronic solutions and products available from the MotorOne stable, to its existing and growing customer base. This is a win-win situation for both companies as well as our customers going forward.”

Ctrack has established itself as the market leader in fleet management solutions as a result of continued research and development since its inception in 1985, an accreditation that has been further substantiated by the recently launched partnership with Discovery Insure as the preferred technology supplier to the Discovery short-term insurance product. The partnership with Discovery positions Ctrack as a significant supplier to the short-term insurance market with its DQ-(Driver Quotient) Track™ telematics device, a unique solution developed by Ctrack over the past two years.

MotorOne is the market leader in managing motor dealership after-sales performance programs designed to improve and explore all avenues of second gross revenue and profit for the dealers. MotorOne’s comprehensive range of products, which can be added to any vehicle, includes DVD rear entertainment systems, sound systems, integrated navigation and infotainment devices which are designed to ensure that the driver stays connected, in touch and enjoys the driving pleasure of their motor vehicle. MotorOne styling and detailing products for both the interior and exterior of any vehicle will protect and enhance the paintwork, leather and fabric interior of vehicles for years to come.

“The Ctrack product offering bolsters the already extensive range of safety and security products that MotorOne brings to the deal. We are now in a position to offer the motor vehicle dealer market together with our existing customers a ‘one-stop shop’ for all their vehicle safety and security needs. The Ctrack offering will be further enhanced through our partnership with MotorOne, using MotorOne’s extensive sales network and operational footprint across South Africa.” states Rousseau.

“We are excited about being a part of Digicore as we foresee extensive growth opportunities for both MotorOne and Digicore. MotorOne currently sell, install and apply products to more than 36 000 vehicles annually in South Africa and we firmly believe that our business proposition to the motor vehicle industry will be substantially boosted with the inclusion of the Ctrack product offering” says Managing Director of MotorOne, Brad Maynard.

“The acquisition of MotorOne by Digicore became effective on 01 July 2011 and we are looking forward to exploring and capitalising on the exciting opportunities and synergies that both parties bring to the table,” concludes Rousseau.
