Multiple Patients Sustain Minor Injuries in Taxi Accident

A fully laden taxi has collided into the back of a truck on a steep hill on the N4 in the direction of Middelburg near the exit to the Atlantic Stadium.

ER24 paramedics that responded to the scene immediately started triaging the patients that were injured. There were between 15 and 20 people that had sustained injuries to their lower legs, including the two occupants of the truck that were also complaining of pain to their necks.

The patients were all checked and treated accordingly on scene before being taken by the various ambulances on scene to hospitals in the surrounding area.

It is not clear as to how the accident happened, but paramedics explained that the taxi had crashed into the back of a truck on a steep incline on the N4. Fortunately the impact was at a fairly low speed and the patients were only slightly injured.
