Two men have been killed and another has sustained injuries after a single minibus taxi overturned on the R617 in the direction of Pietermaritzburg.
The events leading up the collision is still unknown, but it seems that the taxi had lost control before leaving the road and overturning. The taxi had three occupants of who all were ejected from the vehicle as it overturned.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene one of the occupants was already receiving treatment from another ambulance service for suspected back and neck injuries. The two other occupants were found a few meters away from the wrecked taxi. Both men had sustained severe injuries to their entire body and were later declared dead at the scene.
Local law enforcement authorities who attended the scene will be investigating the incident further.
