To address the CPA compliance, Gabriel has now inserted product fitment and disposal procedures to their Gabriel shocks products packaging.
Gabriel shock absorbers, the premier shock absorber brand of Control Instruments-Automotive, have announced that generic fitment instructions for its shock absorbers and struts are now included inside all product packaging.
“The instructions cover product fitment and disposal procedures to assist trade customers and consumers and addresses our Consumer Protection Act (CPA) compliance strategy,” says Sean Staley, executive manager marketing, Control Instruments-Automotive.
“Most competitive products have the instructions printed away from the packaging. This does not aid in the fitment of the product at the time when it is most needed.”
The Gabriel instructions have been designed to be easily read. They include a pictorial format which gives non-English speaking customers the ability to understand the instructions which can also be accessed online at www.gabriel.co.za.
“The CPA requirements state that there must be clear and easy-to-read instructions. Some suppliers sourcing product from overseas are unable to meet even these basic requirements such as clear and easy-to-understand instructions,” he said.
“The Act states that every consumer has the right to receive goods that are reasonably suitable for the purposes for which they are intended. The products must be of good quality and the instructions comprehensive.”
“Because the Gabriel products are locally designed and manufactured for South African conditions and adhere strictly to the ISO14001 and ISO9000 standards, we continually focus on quality. Designing for local conditions is contributing to continued high product quality and below average warranty claims,” he said.
Gabriel recently launched the Safari HDP 4×4 shock, a locally designed and manufactured 4×4 shock.
