[CAPE TOWN – 21 SEPTEMBER 2011 AT 07H30]
A 29 year female is in a serious condition after crashing her motor bike into a car at the corners of Wood and Parklands Road in Parklands this morning.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the woman lying near to the car with the motor bike not too far off. Both motor bike and car had extensive damage. The patient was assessed by ER24 paramedics and found that she had suffered possible neck and back injuries and severe traumatic injuries to left leg.
Advanced Life Support Intervention needed to be performed on the patient before they could transport her to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The driver of the car was unhurt in the accident.
It is believed that the car may have turned in front of the motorcyclist at the time of the accident but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
