13 Year Old School Girl struck by Vehicle

A 13 year old school girl has sustained some injuries this afternoon after she was struck by a small hatchback vehicle at speed.

The incident occurred in Willows in President Boshoff road. A group of girls were walking home from school when the leading girl allegedly stepped into the road. She was hit by the silver Opel Corsa and hurled to the ground.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the injured girl by the side of the road still dressed in her school uniform. The girl was treated at the scene for multiple scrapes and bruises as well as a suspected back and neck injury.

She was immobilized on special equipment before being transported to a nearby medical facility. Local law enforcement authorities who attended the scene will be investigating the incident further.
