One man has sustained some injuries this afternoon after his vehicle overturned on the N3 highway near Cato Ridge in the direction of Pietermaritzburg.
The man was transporting compost in the load bed of a bakkie and had trailer with more goods attached to the vehicle. The cause of the collision is still unknown, but the man allegedly lost control of the vehicle before overturning multiple times.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the man near to where the vehicle had come to a standstill. The man had sustained a fracture to his shoulder and was in pain. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before immobilising him to a special board for transportation to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg.
Local law enforcement authorities who attended the scene will be investigating the incident further.
